Julia’s images capture intimate moments between families, strangers, travelers, and workers while at the same time producing candid landscapes and cityscapes.
SACI Alumna Julia Blaukopf (Spring 2004) just spent a month residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) where she worked side-by-side with a group of multi-disciplinary artists, capturing images for her photographic work. A commission for the CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia was recently completed. Photos of the installation can be seen here.
Julia is currently exhibiting her work in a solo exhibition at Art Works Richmond in Virginia through May 18, 2014. She also continues her commission work in photo-based wallpaper, textile, and tile design. An example of her work is available from Uncommon Goods.
